EINA presents “Noctulica” at Llum Bcn Poblenou
- 15 to 17 February
- Simon 100 Showroom (Carrer de Sancho d’Àvila, 66, Barcelona)
Second-year students on the Bachelor’s Degree in Design, in the Design of Ephemeral Spaces subject, have created the “Noctulica” project, which can be seen at the Simon Showroom in the second edition of Llum Bcn Poblenou, a light festival that will be held from 15 to 17 February.
The “Noctulica” project explores the perception of light and looks at bioluminescence, a phenomenon that occurs when an external element interacts with a living organism, such as the Noctiluca scintillans, a species of bioluminescent plankton. The light emitted by Noctiluca scintillans is inoffensive: it illuminates the shapes of water and creates a light composition in constant movement that plays with our perceptions and with visual experience.
The students taking part in this project, tutored by Judit Colomer, are: Vicente Akira, Mercè Boncompte, Pol Capdevila, Núria Carrascal, Ana Habash, Anaïs Llop, Oriol Pinell and Maria Vicente.
“Noctulica” features the collaboration of Joan Pomés, sound engineer.
